Ben Folds w/ WASO - Narcolepsy

i should warn you I go to sleep

I know you dont know what i mean

i know it seems that i don't care

but something in me does I swear

i don't remember all last year

i left you awake to cry the tears

while I was dreaming

the verses save me from having to explain to many i meet, figuratively and literally

i do have sleep issues.

i'm not, though, narcoleptic

i do not feel
that i've been wrong
now i don't feel
nothing at all.

all the sad news about bangkok makes me profoundly sad because of the streets and faces i recall from the 3 times i was there.
This is my bangkok

an ode to rafal

an ode to rafal

he waits for me
in his yin-yang...pondering
thoughts of cheese
nose to tail
my heart fails
at the sight of sprung lightning
chasing squirrels in the summer.
now,
in the autumn of his years
he waits for me
to come home and scratch him where he just can't reach

victor fan

its tongue in cheek. but anyone who knows rafal knows its also heartfelt

2nd place blues (song-VF)

2nd place blues

times from his life
he keeps on trying to recall
tho he's forgotten
they have not forgotten him at all

these days he'll recall fondly,
but they hurt to be in 'em
the men with whom he'd fight
the wars he'd lose for 'em
soon enough
so is it any wonder
with nothing left to squander
those days are bound to end?
And begin again...

He tries to remember
when he was second place
now that he's first
he wish he lost the race

funny story, first draft had the title at being NUMBER 2 BLUES...then it just sounded like i needed imodium.

VOLCANO (song)

VOLCANO
don't look now
they're on the news again today
those ppl who want
the world to spin their way

the sun went red
again.
when all words have been said,
words can fall dead
like blossoms in the sunshine
she peeped up at him and said:
"im not done with you yet."

the world has its ways
to make you look again
he holds tight
ignores the sea
as it gathers above his knees
just like the time before.
when he drowned
when he drowned

but he wont let her go
not before the volcano
takes her home
takes her home

her lips dissuade him
but her hips persuade him
that this might be the last time
for a while

the heart has a strange way
of laughing at plans
she tells him "I'll love you
as long as I can."

this was the result of a particularly exhilarating/nerve-racking week when she was delayed going back to england to school because of the icelandic volcano/heathrow thing (it was on the bbc ;)

A SONG I WROTE: OIL

Oil
The newsman told him
His bed had been burning
While he'd slept the other way

He pretended not to notice
But when its gone boy
You're gonna feel it.
you'll feel it.

so we drive our cars
to where we die of thirst
cuz we've always known
to feed our machines first
when we learn
that water don't mix with oil
all the fighting
will not feed the thirst at all

she feels nothing yet
as her bed burns on the tv set
but she can see the tears
about to wash up on her shore
to her door
for years...

what is the difference between a song and a poem if the song has no melody yet?
